Hi, I’m Jon.
I started Prestino Personal Training after a surprise layoff opened an opportunity for a change. I could go back to the desk bound, corporate jobs that had wrecked my body, or I could do something more meaningful and healthy. Something not just meaningful and healthy for me, but something that could also help others. That is what lead me to personal training.
I’ve been active all my life, whether it was playing neighborhood games as a kid, organized sports as a teen, or structured exercise as an adult. I was one of the rare people that didn’t just exercise because I knew it was good for me, but because I actually enjoyed it. I love moving my body and using my muscles. Most of my personal reading was already focused on health, improving performance, and aging better. When I thought back to what I enjoyed most about my previous jobs, I kept coming back to coaching. I really enjoyed building high performing teams, coaching individuals to have more belief in their abilities, and helping others break through their roadblocks. Personal training seemed like the best mix of both my personal love of fitness and my skills as a coach and motivator.
Now I’m ready to help you take your health to the next level. Whether you’re brand new to exercise with modest goals, a regular exerciser who needs some new tricks, or an athlete looking to achieve an event specific goal, I’m here to get you where you want to go.
My Philosophy
My philosophy is pretty simple:
My programs are tailored to the individual. One-size-fits-all programs don’t work for most people. My programs will be designed with your specific goals and baseline in mind.
There are no shortcuts. Seeing results requires putting in the work. My job is to make sure that you’re maximizing the work and focusing on effort that will deliver results. Your job is to show up and put in the work.
It’s never too early or too late to start. You can safely see results at any age as long as the program is tailored to you.
Everyone deserves to feel good and strong in their body.
You are capable of more than you realize.
Your health should be your number one priority, but I know the challenges of juggling a career, family, and other obligations. Let’s work together to find the right balance that makes you happy and gets you results.
My Space
I see clients in my home gym located in Glen Park, San Francisco. It’s a fully equipped, bright, private space. You won’t need to worry about other people’s bad gym habits, or waiting for the equipment you want. I have a variety of free weights, straps, bands, stability, and agility equipment to keep you challenged. I do not have cardio specific equipment like treadmills and bikes. That doesn’t mean we can’t find some ways to get your heart pumping.
